About the app

OpenLinkography is an open browser-based tool for visualising and analysing linkographic data. The app supports researchers working with sequenced interaction data, including dialogue, think-aloud protocols, design activity, and other forms of linked qualitative or mixed-methods data.

The app provides a workflow for examining links between moves, link density, move classifications, critical moves, and broader structural patterns in interaction data. It is intended to make linkography more accessible as a research method by supporting visualisation and analysis without requiring users to build their own analysis workflow from scratch.

Typical uses

OpenLinkography may be useful for researchers interested in:

  • analysing think-aloud protocols;
  • examining design dialogue and collaborative activity;
  • visualising interaction patterns over time;
  • identifying critical moves within sequenced data;
  • introducing linkography as a methodological approach in teaching or research education.

Supporting files

These files can be used to test the app and prepare linkographic data for analysis.
